A luxury Aurus Senat limousine from Russian President Vladimir Putin’s official fleet exploded near the Federal Security Service (FSB) headquarters in Lubyanka, Moscow. The incident, captured on video, showed the vehicle engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke rising as people fled the scene. The fire reportedly started in the engine and quickly spread to the interior. Emergency services arrived promptly and extinguished the blaze.
The vehicle, valued at approximately $375,000, is part of the Presidential Property Management Department’s transport fleet. While the limousine was reportedly occupied at the time of the fire, no injuries have been confirmed. Authorities are investigating the cause, with reports suggesting the possibility of sabotage. The FSB has taken over the probe, examining all potential angles, including a deliberate attack.
The explosion comes just days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated, “Putin will die soon and that’s a fact,” in an interview with European journalists. He claimed that the Russian leader’s death would bring an end to the ongoing war. His remarks have fueled renewed speculation about Putin’s health and internal stability in Russia.
Rumors surrounding Putin’s health have persisted, with previous reports suggesting he may suffer from Parkinson’s disease or cancer. Videos have shown him making erratic movements, coughing, and appearing unsteady. However, the Kremlin has repeatedly dismissed these claims, asserting that the president remains in good health.
The Russia-Ukraine conflict, ongoing since February 2022, has led to intense military escalations. Russia continues to occupy approximately 20% of Ukrainian territory, with fighting spread across a 1,000-kilometer frontline. While Russia has targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, Ukraine has responded by striking Russian oil and gas facilities. The explosion in Moscow has further heightened security concerns as tensions remain high.
